The Stone's Rival by Oliver Zwonitzer
Steadily it shall be eroded by
a harsh, unrelenting, natural thing
The river seems so serene to one’s eye
despite the pain and suffering it brings,
and we are all unaware, Soundlessly
we march on, unaware of it’s effects.
The current will beat on mercilessly
Sweeping away into the frigid depths
No element can ever be a match
Not earth, not air but we shall not despair
The rivers hundreds of soldiers dispatched
and when defeated will become the air
Grain by grain the immaculate will yield
breaking down even the strongest of shields
a harsh, unrelenting, natural thing
The river seems so serene to one’s eye
despite the pain and suffering it brings,
and we are all unaware, Soundlessly
we march on, unaware of it’s effects.
The current will beat on mercilessly
Sweeping away into the frigid depths
No element can ever be a match
Not earth, not air but we shall not despair
The rivers hundreds of soldiers dispatched
and when defeated will become the air
Grain by grain the immaculate will yield
breaking down even the strongest of shields
