I stand outside the building staring up at the Marquis, this is where I will be spending my next month. As I enter into the front of the house I see murals and art pieces littering the walls and it is then that I understand where I have landed. This is more than just a theatre, this is a home for creativity. From the moment I entered the building I felt like I was part of the family here, even the coworkers I had yet to meet felt like old colleagues. I sat down in a dressing room, which would be my makeshift office for the day, cued up some of my favorite show tunes and began stuffing envelopes thinking to myself light-heartedly "Interns do the work that no one else wants to do," It is exciting when I look around and see all these people working day in and day out to make sure that this home of the arts survives. Not even a month ago I wasn't sure how I would be able to make a living in the theatre world and asking myself "Is it worth it to get my BA in Theatre?" Now I can say with full confidence that no matter what career path I decide upon my BA in Theatre will not be a waste.
