The purpose of this week’s investigation was to show students that you don't have to get the right answer every time to be successful in Maths. It's all about growth. Being able to accept being wrong is part of the process. In the video we learned that being timed hinders your ability to take tests and solve problems, counting on your fingers can be helpful, and making mistakes can be vital to solving problems. During the "Squares to Stairs" problem I made an amazingly complicated table only to find out out once I was done I had added ten extra digits in between 14 and 15. I knew this would be redone easily but I really wanted to make it look nicer so I redid the table. (The one with color is the first draft) |
